What I learned from the programming languages throughout the history

This summer term, I took the course about programming language by Prof. Todd Eavis.

That's what I learned from the different programming languages throughout the history(from 1950s to now).

  1. innovation is not necessarily the most important(for example C is not really innovative but very successful);

  2. committee has the problem of too many different directions, no clear vision;

  3. people don't like too difficult things(some programming languages are not easy enough for novices, aka the learning curve is too steep)
